Card-Making Workshop with Ranjana Script: Spreading Joy Worldwide
On Saturday, December 3rd, 2022, Dabuli organized a card-making workshop at the Northgate Branch of the Seattle Public Library. Over 20 people participated in the workshop, and they created more than 50 handmade cards with various creative designs and Ranjana script.
The workshop aimed to create inspiring cards with English and Ranjana Script, a calligraphic script from Nepal. The cards will be shipped worldwide to provide support, smiles, and encouragement to children, families, seniors, and veterans in hospitals, schools, senior living, and rehabilitation centers. Participants were also able to keep some of the cards they made for their personal use.
Ranjana script is a writing system developed in the 11th century in Nepal, mostly used by the Newar people from the Kathmandu Valley. The script is also spread in Buddhist monasteries in India, China, Mongolia, Japan, and other countries.
The event was a great success, with participants creating beautiful cards with unique designs and Ranjana script. We are pleased with the turnout and the level of creativity displayed by the participants. “The workshop was a wonderful opportunity to learn about the Ranjana script and create something beautiful for a great cause,” said one of the participants. “I had a great time and look forward to future events like this.”
CardzforKidz, a non-profit organization that distributes cards to children in hospitals and other care facilities, will be shipping the cards worldwide. The organization’s mission is to provide emotional support to children who are facing medical challenges, and the cards made by the workshop participants will certainly help brighten up their day.
Overall, the card-making workshop organized by Dabuli was a great success, and participants left feeling inspired and fulfilled. The event demonstrated the power of creativity and collaboration in bringing joy to those in need.
